Preschool Teacher

Kids First Preschool is looking for another great teacher - could it be you?


This person will prepare and cultivate a rich learning environment where the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of each student can be developed. In this part-time roll you will be part of a Christian-based program. Kids First Preschool is a ministry of First United Methodist Church in North Platte.

    • 10 hours/week (Tuesday and Thursday mornings).
    • School year only, beginning Fall 2024.
    • Salaried, $6,000-$7,500 ($16-$19/hr starting equivalent) based on experience.
    • PTO, Holidays, No Weekends, and Summers Off!
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related area preferred.
    • Must be able to meet Nebraska DHHS qualifications.
    • First Aid/CPR Certified. 
    • Safe Gatherings Certificate (Church safety training). To be completed upon hire. 
    • Criminal History Check, Central Registry Check and Fingerprinting.  
    • Continuing Education or In-Service credits in appropriate field of 12 hours/year

    Some duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Prepare and provide a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and activities.
    • Create and maintain class rosters in consultation with Preschool Director, and staff.
    • Prepare weekly lesson plans according to themes and submit lesson plans to Director.
    • Provide documentation of children’s accomplishments.
    • Complete appropriate paperwork and maintain accurate attendance records.
    • Assist in planning and attend preschool events, staff meetings, and training sessions.
    • Model behaviors/methods for and assign duties to Preschool Teacher Aides.
    • Maintain professional attitude with parents, visitors, staff, board, and church.
    • Assure confidentiality of families and other information.
    • Maintain compliance with all state regulations.
    • Assist with preparation, cleaning, organizing of classroom and preschool facility.
    • Support the evangelism mission of the church by inviting students and families to attend worship.
    • Support individuality, independence, creative expression, and the ability to make choices.
    • Be attentive, flexible, and supportive of children and their families.
    • Respect and observe children’s interests responding to their needs, questions, and requests.
    • Practice positive discipline techniques in guiding children’s behavior.
    • Respond to parents’ comments and concerns.
    • Participate in promotional activities to enhance the preschool’s image, enrollment, and budget.

Preschool Teacher's Aide

Kids First Preschool is looking for their next Teacher's Aide - could it be you?

In this part-time roll you will assist a lead teacher in the Christian-based curriculum our program offers. Kids First Preschool is a ministry of First United Methodist Church in North Platte.

    • 6-10 hours/week (Tuesday and Thursday).
    • Additional substitute hours available, as needed.
    • School year only, beginning Fall 2024.
    • $12-$14/hr starting based on experience.
    • PTO, Holidays, No Weekends, and Summers Off!
    • Education or experience Early Childhood Development or related area preferred.
    • Must be able to meet Nebraska DHHS qualifications.
    • First Aid/CPR Certified.
    • Safe Gatherings Certificate (training provided upon job acceptance).
    • Criminal History Check, Registry Check and Fingerprinting.
    • Continuing Education or In-Service credits in appropriate field of 12 hours/year
  • Some duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist Teacher in presenting lesson plans, supervising kids, and maintaining cleanliness.
    • Responsible for supervision and care of kids under the direct supervision of the Teacher.
    • Participate in preschool events, staff meetings, and training sessions.
    • Maintain professional attitude with parents, visitors, staff, board, and church.
    • Assure confidentiality of families and other information.
    • Assist with preparation, cleaning, organizing of classroom and preschool facility.
    • Support the evangelism mission of the church by inviting students and families to attend worship.
    • Support individuality, independence, creative expression, and the ability to make choices.
    • Be attentive, flexible, and supportive of children and their families.
